DVB tuner hardware from the Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD family can work with the firmware files expected by the Linux driver stack.
It is useful only for systems with that compatible TV tuner. Firmware does not provide a separate app; after installation, TV or DVB software can access the hardware if drivers, permissions, antenna signal, and regional settings are correct.
