Network folders shared through SMB or CIFS can appear inside compatible file managers and GTK/GNOME applications.
This backend is useful for accessing Windows shares, NAS folders, and Samba servers without mounting them manually in every workflow. It may ask for network credentials and should be used only with servers you trust, because file access happens over the network.
