Description
A virtual filesystem layer for GIO, used by GNOME and GTK applications to access local, removable, network, and service-backed locations through a common interface. It makes file managers and apps handle many storage backends consistently.
Keep it installed on GNOME-style desktops. Removing it can break file browsing, mounting, network shares, and device access in applications.
