Description
Applications can authenticate through an NTLMSSP mechanism when compatibility with NTLM-based services is required. It is useful in environments that still depend on Windows-style authentication through GSS-API.
NTLM compatibility can be weaker than modern authentication methods. Prefer stronger mechanisms where possible and avoid sending credentials to untrusted servers.
