Description

Encrypted password databases can be managed from the command line. It is useful for users who want scriptable access to stored credentials without a graphical password manager.

Password databases contain highly sensitive data. Back up vault files, protect master passwords, and avoid exposing entries through shell history, logs, or clipboard managers.
