Linux virtual machines can integrate with Google Compute Engine through guest environment services. The package supports instance metadata, networking, account setup, and platform-specific behavior expected on GCE.
Guest services run with system privileges and interact with cloud metadata. Use them on intended GCE instances and review service-account access and startup behavior.
