Description
Legacy projects can link against a static GMP 4 library when they require libgmp4.a. It is useful for old build systems, preserved software or compatibility work where the expected static archive is not available from current packages.
This is for development and build compatibility, not a user-facing application. Prefer current GMP for new projects unless an old codebase specifically requires this archive.
