Description
Reads, erases, and writes firmware chips such as BIOS, SPI, DIP, and PLCC devices with the Git version of flashrom. It helps technicians and firmware developers back up or update low-level device firmware.
Firmware flashing can permanently brick hardware if the chip, image, or power state is wrong. Back up original firmware, verify chip support, and use recovery equipment when possible.
