Shell buffers can reuse programmable Bash completion, making command names, options, and paths easier to complete while working inside the editor.
This is an Emacs extension, not a separate desktop app. It is useful only for people who use Emacs or maintain Emacs Lisp configurations; behavior depends on the user's editor setup.
