Description
File layout can be reorganized from user space to reduce fragmentation on supported filesystems. It is useful for advanced users investigating disk layout or trying to improve access patterns on older storage.
This command modifies file placement and should be used with backups, especially on important data. It is not a general fix for every slow disk, and modern filesystems or SSDs may not benefit.
