Text can be spoken with the classic DECtalk speech synthesizer on modern Linux systems. It is useful for accessibility experiments, retro computing, speech projects, or users who specifically need the DECtalk voice style.
This Git build provides a text-to-speech application, not a full screen reader. Audio output depends on the local sound setup, and accessibility workflows may still need separate tools for reading desktop interfaces.
