Desktop notifications can be collected, styled, and reviewed from a notification center instead of disappearing after a short timeout. It is useful for window-manager users who want more control than a basic notification daemon provides.
This binary package runs as part of the desktop session and is usually configured with theme and behavior files. It controls notification display and history; it does not replace the applications that send notifications.
