Description
Runs the Cyrus SASL authentication daemon used by servers that need Simple Authentication and Security Layer support. Mail, directory, and network services can use it to verify user credentials through configured backends.
This is a background authentication component, not a normal app. Configuration should be handled carefully because mistakes can block legitimate logins or weaken access control.
