CVS repositories can be migrated to newer version-control systems such as SVN, Git, Mercurial, or Bazaar. This is useful when old project history needs to be preserved in a more modern tool.
Repository migration should be tested on copies. Confirm branches, tags, authors, timestamps, and binary files before replacing the source repository.
