RCS or CVS repository history can be converted into a fast-import stream for migration to newer version-control systems. This is useful when preserving old project history while moving to Git or similar tools.
History conversion can permanently shape migrated repositories. Work on copies, check authors and branches, and compare results before replacing the original archive.
