Description
Older CUDA projects can be built against NVIDIA's 8.0 GPU programming toolkit when newer toolkits are incompatible. This is useful for legacy scientific, rendering, or machine-learning code that was written for that era of CUDA.
It is obsolete for many modern systems and may require older drivers or hardware. Prefer it only when a project explicitly needs CUDA 8.0 and the system can support it safely.
