Description
Processor and BIOS support for hardware features can be checked from user space. It is useful for administrators confirming virtualization or other platform capabilities before enabling dependent software.
Hardware capability checks are diagnostic only. Firmware settings, kernel support, and permissions can still affect whether a feature works in practice.
