Detects changes in block devices by comparing checksums across boot, resume, shutdown, and sleep events. It is useful for administrators who want evidence that disk contents changed between system power states.
Block-device checksumming can read large amounts of storage and may expose sensitive device identifiers or hashes. Configure targets carefully and avoid running it on devices where the extra I/O is unacceptable.
