External monitor brightness can be changed from a small terminal program using ddcutil. It is useful for users who want scriptable brightness control for displays that support DDC/CI.
This is a hardware-control utility from a development branch. Unsupported displays or missing permissions can prevent changes, and very low brightness values may make a monitor hard to read.
