Measures filesystem and storage performance using tests based on the Bonnie benchmark. Administrators use it to compare disks, filesystems, storage settings, or virtualized storage behavior.
Use it on test data and non-critical paths when possible. Disk benchmarks can create heavy I/O load and may affect other applications while running.
