Description

Known web applications can be fingerprinted by comparing static files at predictable locations. It is useful for authorized security assessment, inventory checks, and finding outdated web application versions.

Fingerprinting remote sites can look like reconnaissance. Use it only on systems you own or are allowed to test, and avoid treating guesses as proof without manual verification.
