Amazon S3 buckets can be mounted into the local filesystem with AWS Mountpoint for S3. It is useful for workflows that need file-like access to object storage while accepting that S3 is not a full POSIX filesystem.
Operations use AWS credentials and can read, write, or list cloud objects with possible costs. Check the documented POSIX limitations before using it for applications that expect normal local-disk semantics.
