One-time password entries from Aegis Authenticator backups can be viewed on the desktop, which helps users recover or consult 2FA codes outside the phone app. It is for people who intentionally export and handle their Aegis backup files.
Those backups may contain sensitive authentication secrets. Store them carefully, avoid opening untrusted copies, and remove exported files when they are no longer needed.
