Description
Legacy Autoconf 2.13 support helps build older source trees that require the 2.1x generation behavior. It is useful for maintainers working with historical projects or software that has not migrated to newer Autoconf.
Legacy build tools may generate outdated checks or assumptions. Prefer modern Autoconf for new projects and isolate old build environments when possible.
