Description
Adds support for extended file attributes, small metadata values that filesystems can store alongside files. These attributes are used by access control lists and by some backup, security, and desktop features.
Most users do not open it directly. Administrators and scripts can use getfattr and setfattr to inspect or change attributes, and changing them incorrectly can affect permissions or application behavior.
