Lets Android Emulator create virtual x86_64 Android devices for API 24. The image contains the Android system files used by emulator profiles when testing apps without a physical device.
Developers install it to test layout, compatibility, and behavior on an emulator. It is not a standalone app; Android Studio, avdmanager, or emulator tools select the image, and it can use significant disk space and CPU resources.
