KDE applications get a shared Personal Information Management storage layer for mail, contacts, calendars, notes, and related data through an asynchronous API. It is useful as the backend used by KDE PIM applications.
Akonadi stores and indexes personal information in the background. Keep backups and review account synchronization before changing or removing its data.
